Sea freight is the backbone of the world economy, carrying 90% of international trade. 60% of all sea freight travel in containers. Thanks to containerization, sea freight is usually by far the most economical way to transport larger (>100kg) shipments from one continent to another.

Standard options for containerized sea freight are LCL (less than container load) and FCL (full container load). LCL is recommended for less than 20cbm shipments, although it’s sometimes known to be cheapest option also for higher volumes. FCL is recommended for over 20cbm shipments or for very fragile cargo.
